A Digital Third Space for Friends
Virtual rooms where friends can hang out, play games, and just exist together. Spatial audio makes voices shift based on where people are in the room.

make online hangouts feel more like being together in person?
enable natural side conversations in a virtual space?
create comfortable silence instead of awkward silence?
Overview
Hang.fm is a place for friends to hang out online that feels more like being together than a video call. You create customizable rooms with music players, games, and objects, then share via a link.
The trick is spatial audio: voices shift based on where people are in the room. You can have side conversations, wander between groups, or sit in comfortable silence.
Role
I recruited two engineering partners, designed the mobile and desktop apps, and built the MVP. Also ran user research with 150+ student testers.
