Overview

Tier, Europe's largest scooter company, was getting fined because riders parked in the wrong places. GPS alone wasn't accurate enough (often off by 10+ meters), so there was no way to verify if a scooter was actually in a designated zone.

Role

Working with Fantasmo's founders, I designed the UX for a camera-based parking verification system. I handled 3D asset creation, AR interaction design, and the full user flow from camera open to parking confirmation.

The system used computer vision to localize users more precisely than GPS, guided them via AR overlays to parking areas, and verified placement automatically.

Impact

Fantasmo was acquired by Tier to integrate this system.

Recommendations

There aren't many designers out there like Conway. His breadth of experience and ability to think and conceive spatially in 2D, 3D and with motion differentiate him from other designers. He's helped me solve very difficult design problems in everything from mobile interfaces to detailed augmented reality interactions all while focused on solving the problem for the end user efficiently and elegantly. He's a joy to work with and provides insights and ideas beyond the things I've hired him to work on.
